K1 Potash Mine

The K1 potash mine near Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. First built in 1962, IMC Global (now Mosaic) completed the shaft for the K1 mine, which combined with its “sister” mine K2 produces more potash than any other mine in the world, granting Esterhazy the title of “Potash capital of the world.
